Zakat must fulfil three conditions to be deemed valid. Firstly, the individual offering Zakat must be a Muslim. Secondly, the wealth designated for Zakat must surpass a specified threshold, referred to as the Nisab. Lastly, the wealth in question must have been owned for a complete lunar year before the obligation of paying Zakat arises.
The nisab, or the weight at which Zakat becomes necessary, is currently set at 85 grammes of gold or 595 grammes of silver. The nisab for cash and other forms of wealth is based on current market value. Once the nisab has been satisfied, 2.5% of the wealth must be paid as Zakat. This indicates that if a person’s wealth is worth $10,000, they are required to pay $250 in Zakat

As we are aware that thousands of people have been killed as they slept in Turkey after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit in the early hours of Monday, 6th February, 2023 morning, in one of the most powerful quakes in the region in at least a century. Thousands more were injured as the quake wiped out entire sections of major cities.
Now, “SAHARA for Life Trust” is planning to distribute free tents, food items and medicines in this challenging time for earthquake victims of Turkey. We would extremely happy to have your support. The price of a tent will be PKR 125,000 (USD 500 & GBP 400).
